I divide to rule me

We believe in Cartesian dualism, (we are divided into mind and body), because the powerful we apply the formula “divide and rule”.

Two sentences out there who say the same, although from different perspectives.

- “United We Stand"; and

- "Divide and rule".

In both cases appear to be of slogans designed and performed by those who want to be successful, whether it's defending or attacking.

As they say the same thing but in a different way can be used in a complementary way to reinforce the concept. For example, someone may say: "Let us unite to try to divide them".

As seen, come over here a saying: "Unity is strength".

With this other added someone could reaffirm its revolutionary cry twice, for which I would say: " Because there is strength, unite and try to prevent them from joining (try dividing)".

If still dizzy with so many phrases, sayings and slogans, let a little more because now comes the really important part of this article.

With great ingenuity humans believe to be composed of a body (material) plus a spirit (immaterial). In philosophical jargon, this belief is called Cartesian dualism, because it was Rene Descartes who proposed.

Why do you think this philosopher became so famous? My answer is that it fulfilled an infallible rule: those who directly or indirectly succeed to the powerful help.

Everything would indicate that the proposal made by Descartes is wrong: we are a human unity and if we have thoughts that seem immaterial is because what we know about the human body is too little.

In other words: we are united, we are one-piece, thoughts are organic productions that even we can not explain, but believe us divided because Descartes said it and because we undergo powerful formula we apply "divide and conquer".

Note: Original in Spanish (without translation by Google):  Me divido para que me gobiernen.
