Power and money as "narcissistic supply"

Capitalist societies have devices (markets) that share power in the form of money, which reaches every citizen according to his ability to generate and accumulate.

We believe that every human being needs two types of inputs: tangible and intangible.

Whether they are liable to be touched (tangible) do not make them no more or less important than those who can not be touched (intangible).

Among the inputs that can be felt are those that we can guess: food, clothing, housing, between inputs which can not be touched are other less obvious.

The latter could generically call "narcissistic supply", ie, those who once obtained, provide us pride, complacency emotional, social sense of accomplishment.

To clarify this point, the "narcissistic supplies" are usually noticeable when provoke overreaction of gratification and we call pedantry, arrogance, conceit, immodesty, vanity, affectation, sufficiency, presumption.

In other words, an overdose of "narcissistic supply" inflamed personality, oversized, expands.

If I have to explain for its exaggerated size, we can infer from this explanation to feel loved, respected, important, consulted, make the quality of life in an almost (I said "almost") as significant as having enough tangible resources (food, clothing, shelter).

One of the "narcissistic supply" is the amount of power that we have assigned the group.

This recognition of our capacity as administrators, as honest, reliable, able to be "good parents" (men and women capable of taking care of possessions and collective), is highly valuable to our self-esteem, this is particularly important ingredient in the achievement of a good quality of life.

Capitalist societies have devices (markets) that share power in the form of money, which reaches every citizen according to his ability to generate and accumulate.
