Reciprocity must

Reciprocity, ("I will give you if you give me"), is essential because without mutual aid coexistence is impossible.

The story is old, by an anonymous and has a certain pattern that changes context depending on the occasion.

In short, the story goes that a group of people has a pot of flavorful and aromatic food, are very hungry, but only have spoons whose handle is longer than the arm of any of the diners.

Although they could satisfy their appetite, they can not because the spoons available to bring the food to prevent the lips of anyone who would use them.

In one of the versions is that diners look very thin and dejected because they are in hell, while other guests look happy and well fed because they are in heaven.

The difference between hell and heaven is that the latter used the spoons to feed the others, while the former (convicted), can not think of feeding the other, behaving like "the dog in the manger "another story, also ancient and anonymous, which means that dogs are vegetarians.

Apparently the phrase popularized by a successful sitcom written by Felix Lope de Vega (Spain, 1562-1635), relates to a garden watchdog that prevents access to the master himself.

For example, when a child does not pay their toys that either he plays, is said as "the dog in the manger."

The selfishness of envy is the feeling that animates these characters who help others but some will.

In short: Given our psychological characteristics, the reciprocal links, ("I will give you if you give me"), is essential because without mutual aid coexistence is impossible.

Note: Original in Spanish (without translation by Google): La reciprocidad imprescindible
