Collective benefits of some individual tragedies

A complaint which destroys the reputation of someone (case “Woody Allen-rape"), we are pleased because it improves our self-image.

It's in every media (January 2014): "Woody Allen he is a rapist".

Indeed, the story was told by a foster daughter of former Great Director, Writer, Actor, Musician Jewish and American.

If we did a poll, most would be saying that the victim is telling the truth and that the ex-Great Man is actually an abject worm the worst sort.

The sound we imagine when falls lofty character is adorable, melodious, fascinating, enchanting, hypnotic.

Billions of people were glad because this journalistic fact allows us to think "Did you see why I am so inconsequential? I did not sexually abuse my children!"

Unscrupulously confess that Woody Allen films continue liking. Say what you will.

Human creations are independent of its author. Both good and bad: not a useless creation becomes wonderful because the author is worthy of love, or creating a valuable spoils because the author is unlovable.

The fall of an idol is wonderful because it allows us to improve our relative position with respect to it: gain in self-image, we diminish envy, your chances of getting depression are reduced. In this sense, without any irony, we thank allegedly raped the daughter and all media that have allowed us to obtain these gains.

Although the only thing I care about is how much should I gained with the complaint, out of curiosity, I wonder: What have been the gain of the complainant?
